Attendance was really varied on the day, from near stock MX5's to 400-500bhp dedicated drift cars, it was nice to see even the lowered powered cars giving the large, speedy track a good go!
The MB Automotive drift team were there testing the cars out before the start of the 2012 BDC season, including Ross Gregory in his S14.3, someone i think is definitely 'one to watch' this year.
To my surprise there was also a rear wheel drive converted Fiesta!!! Going really well until i believe a mechanical issue ended his practice early.
There was a great, relaxed atmosphere throughout the day which in my opinion is how practice days should be!
It was refreshing to see some people driving the tyres off their car rather than arse dragging into every corner on the handbrake, including a guy in a Granada 24v V6 powered Sierra!!
Although a lot of people were out of tyres, fuel, money and energy by about 3pm but the track was still very much active right until the sun went down.
Thanks to Lez, the Lydden officials and marshalls for giving us a brilliant practice day and i hope to return again soon!
